Description:

The materials are designed especially for the installation of bottom layers in two-layer and multi-layered roofing systems. These materials are produced by two-sided placement of a fiberglass mat or fiberglass and bonder, which is composed of oxidized or modified bitumen with SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) or APP (atactic polypropylene) polymer modifier, on a reinforcing polyester foundation. A low-melting-point polymer film or a fine-grained dressing compound is attached to the material as a protective layer.

The materials having such a protective layer are not protected from sunlight, and cannot therefore be used as a finishing covering for roof cladding. An upper layer surfaced with a coarse-grained slate or basalt dressing compound should always be placed over such materials.

Roofing materials

The polyester foundation prevents material deformation, and the sand on the bottom surface not only prevents layer-to-layer sticking, if folded in a roll, but it also provides for better material adhesion to gluing mastic.

Areas of application:

It is intended for the installation of bottom layers of roof cladding and waterproofing of engineering structures.

The materials with fine-grained sand surfaced on the bottom side can be not only welded, but they also can be applied to a gluing mastic (e.g., TECHNONICOL No.22 (Vishera)).

If the sand is surfaced on the bottom layer in separate strips, such materials can be used for the installation of a “breathing” roof to develop composite action with roof aerators.

Materials less than 2.5 mm thick line layers for roof cladding installation by using flexible tile or other materials. They are fixed mechanically as a rule.

Installation:

Mechanical installation: polyester- and fiberglass-based materials used as the bottom layer of roof cladding, and they have a crack resistance against tearing of no less than 180 N, and they can be fixed mechanically to a foundation, without the need of welding the material on completely, but only of melting the overlappings together. Seams are sealed by use of a propane burner.

Welding-on: all-type-based materials that are more than 2.5 mm thick are welded-on to a pre-prepared foundation. If material thickness is less than 2.5 mm, the welding-on is not permitted!
