17.01.2017 The Southern Federal University planning a 50-meter long swimming pool focused on Olympic objects’ standards and set very high requirements for the materials’ choice. Specialists of TechnoNICOL suggested to implement the enhanced LOGICROOF 2mm membrane and the impermeable VAPOR BARRIER SF 1000, designed specifically for buildings with high internal humidity.

The new sports complex of the Southern Federal University with the modern swimming pool is the largest science and education center of the region. This is a promising object capable to increase the level of sports facilities of the whole oblast. “We decided to build a swimming pool that meets both the University’s and the region’s needs, so we completed a large and costly project”, told Marina Borovskaya, rector of the University to donnews.ru. “Presently, three similar swimming pools have been planned in our country. These are powerful objects, and we want to exclude architectural mistakes”.

At the stage of construction, TechnoNICOL experts suggested using the LOGICROOF 2mm premium waterproofing membrane. The material has high width of rolls, which allows for quick mounting and simplifies construction works. Enhanced thickness adds safety margin, puncture resistance and durability. For the correct welding of LOGICROOF PVC membrane junctures the company proposed to use TECHNONICOL cleanser and afterwards an additional liquid PVC TECHNONICOL to reinforce the construction.

Another progressive solution is the implementation of the VAPOR BARRIER SF 1000 on the roof. This self-adhesive material is laid on bearing structures of the profiled decking and securely protects the heat retainer from moisture from water vapor which penetrates from the inside space.
